ADOPT A PET: Meet Diego

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – If you dream of coming home to a wet nose, wagging tail and tons of kisses (in addition to, perhaps, a half chewed shoe or overturned trashcan) adopt a puppy from your local pet shelter. According to the ASPCA, approximately 5 million to 7 million domesticated animals enter animal shelters nationwide, every year, and approximately 3 million to 4 million are euthanized. However, you can change those numbers but adopting a “companion” for yourself or your family. Pets are an investment but, in our opinion, an investment well worth the money.

Diego is a Miniature Pinscher mix and she’s available for adoption from the Gwinnett Humane Society. At almost eight months, Diego has almost reached his full size. He’s black and brown with a white marking on her chest. He is crate trained and is described as a “super sweet” dog.

If one should choose to adopt a pet from the Gwinnett Humane Society, the $125 adoption fee includes: vaccinations and de-worming, a veterinarian visit, a microchip and surgical sterilization. And, a list of the basic requirements for adoption can be found here. The adoption center is located at 1350 Scenic Highway Suite 204 in Snellville.
