ATLANTA -- Don't be alarmed if you see a whole bunch of people running down Georgia 400 this weekend.

The Pay the Last Toll road race will be held Sunday, Nov. 17 at 8:30 a.m., and gives athletes one last opportunity to see the infamous toll booths before they are demolished.

Runners will begin at the Glenridge Connector in Sandy Springs and run south to Phipps Plaza. When they reach the toll booths, they will throw in their final 50 cents. All proceeds will go to charity.

Northbound lanes of Ga. 400 will be closed for the race from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sunday.

Georgia Department of Transportation crews will also spend part of the weekend tearing down a MARTA pedestrian bridge on southbound Ga. 400.

Police department donates bicycles to Goodwill

LILBURN, Ga. -- The Lilburn Police Department recently donated 11 bicycles to Goodwill for needy families to receive and enjoy.

All 11 bikes were turned in to the police department. They were donated only after their owners could not be located.

"It was an easy decision for me to offer these donations to those who would otherwise miss the opportunity to enjoy the pleasure of cycling," Lilburn Police Chief Bruce Hedley said in a statement. He added that his other options were to destroy the bikes or sell them for scrap metal.
