Police arrest three of five Lilburn robbery, shooting suspects

LILBURN, Ga. -- Police investigated a shooting in unincorporated Lilburn that happened at around 2:45 Friday morning.

A person was shot in the shoulder during an invasion of a home on the 1000 block of Worchester Place. Three adult male roommates live in the home.

Cpl. Jake Smith of the Gwinnett County Police Department said five suspects were involved in the crimes, including two women and three men.

According to detectives, one of the victims met the women at a bar and invited them back to the home. The girls went with him, and three more male suspects arrived around the same time.

One of the men shot the victim, who was taken to a nearby hospital. Smith said the injury is not life-threatening.

Another victim escaped through a window during the robbery. He ran to a neighbor's house and called police, Smith said. By the time the officers got to the home, the suspects had all driven off in two cars.

One of the cars was the one the suspects arrived in. The other belongs to the victims.

Smith said DeKalb Co. officers stopped one of the vehicles for a violation unrelated to the robbery or shooting. Two women and one man were in the car.

The officers investigated determined all three suspects were connected to the robbery and shooting, and arrested them. Their names have not been released.
