Arsonist to blame for apartment fires | News
LILBURN, Ga. -- Gwinnett County Fire Investigators are looking to determine who is responsible for setting three fires at Brentwood Bowns Apartments in the 500 block of Pleasant Hill Road.
On Sunday Dec. 6, at around 8 p.m., a 911 caller passing by noticed the apartment complex clubhouse was on fire. Crews arrived to find small fires.
"Upon further examination of the scene, firefighters determined that two additional fires had also been intentionally set in close proximity," said Gwinnett Fire Captain Tommy Rutledge.
The second fire caused minor damage to another exterior door of the building. The third fire was set in a bed of pine needles and shrubs near the pool area and caused minor scorching of vegetation. Fire Investigators believe the same individual is responsible for setting the three fires within the same time period.
