Man wanted in deaths of 3 children arrested

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -- A fugitive wanted in the murders of three children has been taken into custody.

Ivan Gonzalez was captured in Mexico after being on the run for four years, according to the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities said he was wanted on murder and arson charges stemming from a 2011 house fire in Lilburn.

The fire killed 21-month-old Stacy Brito, 3-year-old Jose Ivan Guevara and 4-year-old Isaac Guevara.

Investigators say Gonzalez was making methamphetamine in the home.

Two adults were arrested in the case, including the children's mother.

Gonzalez was extradited and is in Gwinnett County Jail. He's charged with three counts of murder, trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking marijuana, possession of methamphetamine and three counts of arson in the first degree.
