GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -- Three children were hit by a car at a Gwinnett County school bus stop Thursday morning.

Gwinnett County Police Cpl. Michele Pihera said the children were struck at around 7:45 a.m. at Francis Drive and Rockbridge Road in the Lilburn area.

All three children suffered minor injuries. Gwinnett County Schools spokeswoman Sloan Roach said two of the children are in elementary school, while the third is in middle school.

The driver who hit the children stayed on the scene. No names have been released.

The driver told police his knee gave out. His car jumped the right curb, and struck the kids who were waiting on a sidewalk. He is being cited for failure to maintain lane.
