Cars catch fire inside Lilburn garage

LILBURN, Ga. -- No one was hurt in a business fire in Lilburn Wednesday afternoon.

The blaze broke out at around 1 p.m. at Dan & Bri Motors in the 550 block of Pleasant Hill Road. It was contained to the automotive bay, but threatened to spread the building's office area, accoridng to Gwinnett County Fire Capt. Tommy Rutledge.

One technician was inside the business when the fire began. He managed to escape.

"We are fortunate that fire crews were able to contain the fire to the area of origin and that the technician was not injured during the incident," Rutledge said.

An initial investigation determined the cause of the fire was most likely related to work being done on a car. The technician told fire crews a gas heater was being used inside the building.

Two cars inside the bay were damaged in the fire.
