ATLANTA – There are tons of fun events going on this weekend, in your area. We’ve listed a few of them for you to check out with your family and friends.

Look for an abundance of BBQ and Brews at Atlantic Station, this weekend. Atlanta’s third annual Atlanta Bar-B-Q Festival is a showcase of barbecue styles from all over the South, the Carolina, Texas and infamous Memphis and Kentucky barbecue. The festival will be held starting on Friday and will run through Saturday, October 1. Atlantic Station is located on Atlantic Drive in Midtown.

On Friday night, FLUX returns to Castleberry Hill. The public arts festival will be held in the city’s traditionally artsy, loft-warehouse district. This year about thirty-four projects will be showcased by 219 artists. Among projects showcased is The Hunt by The Collective Project, Volley by Monica Cook, and The Days of Awe by Deanna Sirlin. Castleberry Hill is located along Peters and Walker Street in Downtown.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year and, no, it’s not Christmas but it’s the North Georgia State Fair. The fair will be held at Jim Miller Park in Marietta. Popular returning acts are the K9s in flight, Oscar the Robot, the Bike Stunt Show and the Wit Carson Petting Zoo and Pony Rides. Jim Miller Park is located off of Callaway Road in Marietta.

It’ll only be in town for a spell, so don’t miss it. The acclaimed musical Wicked is in town at the FOX Theatre. The show, which has won Tony Awards and a Grammy, is a story about the Witches of Oz, Glenda and the Wicked Witch of the West, this musical tells their untold story. Leave the children with a sitter because children under four aren’t admitted. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster or at the FOX Theatre box office. The Fox is located at 660 Peachtree Street in the Downtown neighborhood.

Taylor Swift will be performing her hits on Phillips Arena on Saturday and Sunday. A superstar in the country music genre, Taylor Swift, is stopping in Atlanta for two dates on her second world tour performing her new album, Speak Now. The tour will visit four continents and will run from February 9, 2011 until March 17, 2012. Phillips Arena is located at 1 Philips Drive in the Downtown neighborhood.

The Peachtree Music Festival will be held at the corner of Spring Street and 8th Street and in addition to two stages, 18 bands, and a corral of food trucks, a beer garden, vendors and tons of people. Those performing will include Shiny Toy Guns, a Grammy-nominated electronic band, and DGAF: Dallas Austin and Corey Enemy. Tickets can be purchased online for, between $25 and $35.

Come out and celebrate one of Atlanta most historic neighborhoods at the Sweet Auburn Fall Festival. The annual festival attracts plenty of vendors selling a bevy of goods and services. The festival will be held on Auburn Avenue on Saturday and Sunday.

Alpharetta Brew Moon Fest will be held at the Downtown Alpharetta. The Downtown Alpharetta Trade Association will hold the first annual Alpharetta Brew Moon Fest street, dance, brew and shenanigans on Saturday. The festival will offer food, beer and wine and non-alcoholic beverages. The fest will be held on Old Milton Avenue in downtown Alpharetta.

Watch you hot dog run at the Howl-O-Weenie Dechshund Festival in Dunwoody. The festival is a celebration of dachshund contests, bluegrass and an open market. The festival is free for all and you don’t even have to own a “weiner dog”. The market will showcase dog-related items such as art, doggie treats and “pet-icures”. The festival will be held at Brook Run Park in the Dunwoody neighborhood.

Check out the Field of Greens Festival in Covington. The festival features top chefs from the Atlanta and Athens area, they’re gathering to cook locally-grown food. The event will be held at Whipporwhill Organic Farm. The Field of Greens feature organic farm cooking, live music, hands-on demonstrations and many other activities. Whipporwhill is located at 3905 Highway 138 in the Covington neighborhood.
