LILBURN: Classmate indicted in Mercer law grad's murder | Crime
MACON, Ga. -- A Bibb County grand jury has indicted Stephen McDaniel on a murder charge in the killing of Lauren Giddings, his Mercer University law school classmate and neighbor in Macon.
The grand jury also indicted McDaniel on Tuesday on 30 counts of sexual exploitation of children.
The 26-year-old from Lilburn has been in jail since July 1, the day after Giddings' dismembered torso was found in a roll-away trash can near the apartment building where they lived.
Giddings was last seen June 25. The 27-year-old grew up in Laurel, Md. and received her bachelor's degree from Agnes Scott College in Decatur.
McDaniel was charged with murder on Aug. 2 and was denied bond on Aug. 26.
